Details are scarce. The article cites sources stating the sedan will get a revamped exterior and a richer-appearing interior. Driving dynamics are expected to be sportier as well. This includes the availability of all-wheel drive, a first for the Korean brand. Hyundai is mum, though, on the specifics.
What is known is that the Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis concept, which was introduced at this year’s Detroit Auto Show, is not the next generation Genesis. Also, the automaker has no plans to tone down its fluidic sculpture design, which was first introduced in the 2011 Sonata and has been applied to the rest of the lineup. States Derek Joyce, product public relations manager over at Hyundai: “Design is constantly evolving, all design is. The desire is to always look to enhance and provide freshness to design, but it is not a change from our general overall theme of fluidic sculpture.”
