The Hyundai Equus has ascended to the peak of the Luxury Car category in the 2013 Ideal Vehicle Awards, earning the segment’s top honor ahead of rivals like the Lexus LS, Cadillac XTS, Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The awards, presented annually by the automotive research and consulting firm of AutoPacific, go to the vehicles that best match customer ideals in 15 different facets of the ownership experience, including technology, exterior styling and performance.
“AutoPacific’s Ideal Vehicle Awards are very significant because they identify which automotive manufacturers listen best to their buyers when updating and developing their latest vehicles,” said George Peterson, president of AutoPacific.
That’s obviously the case with the Hyundai Equus, which received a myriad of luxury upgrades for the 2014 model year. Among them:

- Restyled front bumpers, fascia and grille
- Standard LED fog lamps
- 19-in., turbine-blade polished-silver wheels
- A redesigned cabin with updated center console, instrument panel and center stack
- Revised suspension tuning that enhances ride comfort and handling in both Normal and Sport modes, while adding a Snow mode for dealing with winter weather
