No, Barack Obama didn’t sneak into Las Vegas last week to check out all the cool Hyundai concepts at the annual SEMA Show. But John Krafcik—president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America—did attend, and he presented the automaker’s first SEMA President’s Choice Award to the JP Edition Hyundai Veloster Turbo, masterminded by tuning legend John Pangilnan.
“Selecting our first SEMA President’s Choice wasn’t easy,” said Krafcik. “Hyundai’s booth was loaded with seven innovative concepts building upon our popular Veloster, Genesis Coupe, and Elantra GT models. In the end, though, I couldn’t resist the JP Edition Veloster. The distinctive mint green paint, wide fender flares and blacked-out wheel package was just a cleanly integrated overall vehicle concept. Congratulations, John!”
As indicated, the JP Edition Hyundai Veloster wears a fresh minty-green exterior from BASF, extending even to its custom-fabricated fender flares from Jon Sibal and TS Designs, then adds a full complement of custom upgrades like:
- A new exhaust system from ARK Performance
- Suspension enhancements that include KW coil-over shocks, sway bars and an anti-lift kit from Whiteline, and ARK Performance lowering springs
- Stoppers from Brembo
- Ray’s Gram Lights Xtreme57 wheels, surrounded by Toyo Proxes T1 Sport tires
- Premium audio from Alpine
- V-LEDs lighting
