"2016 Tucson Australian Nav Unit
Bought the Tucson top of the range here in Oz, the Highlander, we don't have the added limited like the US. In Oz our vehicles come stripped down in most cases and I was very dissapointed in our Nav unit.
Remember this is top of the range available in Australia and none of these things listed are options either. This car retails on the road for about $48k here which is about $34k USD based on current exchange rate.
Things our Head Unit does not have:
1. Digital/Satellite radio
2. Access to Apps in the unit
3. Access to the optional Blue Link or similar thing
4. Voice commands for navigation at least
5. No option to split the screen OMG this was a huge thing where is it!?
Our head unit is the most basic navigation and maps plus the most basic standard AM/FM radio with No CD player of course and has no other options or apps or functionality apart from reversing camera.
Other things we don't get in Oz:
1. Stitched soft touch dash
2. Premium Stereo system with proper Sub-Woofers (We get the standard 6 speakers which is in all models)
3. No option for HID headlights at all so we don't get the active headlights that turn when turning corners. (Ours are passive/static, a light turns on when you turn a corner illuminating a part of the corner for a couple of seconds)
4. Colour choices the rest of the world gets and we are left with a common group of grey, white, blue, red.
5. Interior choices across the range like the US does and possibly Europe. We can only have Beige interior on the Black or the yucky brown, nothing else.
6. No Carplay in the Highlander but it will come to the cheaper models. (This would have made a dead Head Unit usable at least but NO! you Aussies can't have that)
7. They removed the turn by turn navigation guide in the smaller display in middle of dash....Why!? Our system is so basic give us that at least!
9. Just Sport and normal driving mode they removed ECO.
10. Some places get heated rear seats but an option for this would have been nice but not there.
There are a couple of other things missing which I can't remember right now but the list was fairly long overall.
I know Europe gets the SPAS auto parking system and I think the US doesn't....neither do we.
So all in all would you guys pay $34k on the road for this car if all of these items were not there? Thing is I would have paid a bit more if they had included these things as I wanted top of the line.
Anyway I love the car overall, it is a nice drive, quiet except road noise at high speed on freeways and is very comfortable. It is still a great car but would have been amazing for me if most of these other things were included as well for a few more $."
