In Italy we have a serious and dangerous problem with Hyundai ix35, 1.7CRDi.
The problem is that the engine stops while the car is running, without any panel alarm, so it's very dangerous.
This problem occurs when the temperature is around 0°C or less.
Unfortunately it doesn't always happen in the same way, so we drive with panic.
We have tried to speak with HMC-Italy but we are continuing to receive answers that do not satisfy our questions and usually they say we must put anti frost additives to each full despite we use "winter" diesel.
But it's very expensive to put additives to each full because the Hyundai Italy suggest an additive that costs 15€ and a full costs about 50/55€.
Besides, we don't understand why this problem happens only with ix35 1.7 CRDI and not with IX35 2L CRDI or i40 which has the same engine as IX35 1.7 CRDI?
This problem is very common on IX35 1.7 CRDI and we know this because in Italy there is a fan club of Hyundai and we can exchange our experiences both positives and negatives.
In Italy, Hyundai is becoming a very popular constructor for its design and quality but this problem is mining its credibility.
The 5 year guarantee becomes a funny story in front of a car which suddenly stops during an easy overtaking which it becomes a terrible car crash (with all family on board)!
Can Hyundai Motor Company do something for his Italian clients?
